In Dasilio, at Camping Prinos Prinos has reopened after a two-year hiatus and now belongs to both the local community of Prinos and the municipality of Thassos. It has been refurbished and will be used for the local commune’s sports and cultural events. Cultural events are commonly held in July and August.
Camping Prinos is located near to the sea in a small forest of pines, trees, and flowers. Without a doubt, it is one of Greece’s most attractive and well-organized camping grounds.
It is around 20000 m2 in size, with an 800 m sandy beach and 303 tent or caravan sites divided by plants and trees. It has a blue flag beach and a category A camping area.
The camp is located in the Dasilio region, which has four restaurants, as well as various pubs and beach bars. The camp is located near Skala Prinos (800 m), the island’s principal harbor and the closest to Kavala.
The campsite is very quiet and has many large, shady pitches. The sanitary facilities are OK. You can walk to the village to eat in one of the tavernas. This year, apart from Bulgarians and Romanians, there were few German campers on the site. We found the stay on the campsite very good.
