Chips can put a smile on anyone’s face, and some people can’t get enough. But most motorhomes don’t come with an oven, and usually, there isn’t enough space for a fryer. That doesn’t mean you have to go without your favourite snack; make them in the Oven instead! This little oven is a nifty gadget for your camping kitchen, and with it, you can whip up dishes that you’d usually need a conventional oven to make.
Chips
Made with potatoes and/or sweet potatoes
Prep time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 30 minutes
Makes: 2 portions
- 3 large potatoes or alternative
- 1 large sweet potato
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt
Directions:
Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into long, narrow pieces. Toss them in oil and add them to the Oven. Bake for 30 minutes over medium heat, then season with salt or other herbs and spices (such as dried rosemary or garlic powder) to taste. Serve with ketchup, mayonnaise or other dipping sauce.
If you want to make things even easier, you can use frozen chips. These only need about 15–20 minutes.
